Last Saturday marked two firsts for me: my first time to go up Bukit Tabur in Taman Melawati; and my first time to try out Samsung Galaxy Note 3’s ‘Surround Shot’ feature.
So how did it go?
1. The climb: It was exhilarating and challenging but doable. I made the mistake of not eating properly before the climb (i.e. I didn’t take any carbs at all), making me too dizzy to go any further after Checkpoint 3. I felt that my legs could do it but my spinning head told me I’m better off not risking it.
2. The shot: I found the result to be rather dramatic and beautiful, despite the slight distortion. See for yourself here (click the pic for a larger version to open in another tab):
I left the shot unedited other than cropping, the addition of my site’s URL, and resizing for the web.
I look forward to the day when I feel confident enough to climb Bukit Tabur with my D90 in my backpack and see what kind of pics I can bring back…
